Humano Residential Complex

Located in the heart of Sherbrooke’s new downtown core, the Humano project builds upon the continuity of the Urbano development, completed in 2016. With a footprint of approximately 24,700 sq. ft., this seven-storey building above grade with two underground levels provides more than 170,000 sq. ft. of usable and occupiable space.

The structure, entirely constructed in reinforced concrete, is founded partly on high-quality bedrock and partly on a deep foundation system using piles, as the bedrock presents a pronounced escarpment across a portion of the site. A transfer slab supports a landscaped terrace incorporating seating areas, urban gardening spaces, and pedestrian walkways.

Civil engineering and infrastructure services included site geomorphology management, building and infrastructure layout, design of circulation routes and access points, stormwater management, construction of major retaining structures, and the extension of municipal services.
